Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Sure. My name's Gavin McGregor and at one point in time, I wouldn't have had to tell you much about myself at all because news about me—news that was sometimes true but more often completely fabricated—was splattered across the tabloids at least once a month. I was a pop star, and yes, I hated the fact that the world thought they knew who I was because they could read about me in entertainment news magazines, but I tried not to let it bother me too much. The truth is, singing was my life. When I was up on stage, in front of thousands of screaming fans, nothing else seemed to matter. The stage was my happy place. All of that came to an abrupt end though when I was in a motorcycle accident. In a flash, my career, my money, and my life were gone. For a brief moment in time I was angry that my life had been ripped away, but then I met Noelle. And that's where this story truly begins.
What is your role in the story?
Well... I guess readers would say that I'm the hunky heartthrob that Noelle falls in love with. But if you ask me, I'm just a ghost, someone who once had a successful life. I'm just a guy who falls in love with a girl, knowing that we can never truly be together.
What is your favorite hobby?
I love to sing! Yes, even now that I'm a ghost, singing is still my favorite pastime. Now that I can no longer sing for an audience though, I've discovered how much fun it is to pass on my love for singing to Noelle. She has an amazing voice, and nothing makes me happier than when I see the sparkle of passion in her eyes when we sing together.
What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?
I'm a ghost... She's a beautiful, talented, intelligent woman who deserves better than me. I mean seriously, what can I give her? I know that we have no future together. And it's my greatest fear that I will one day break her heart. What's the saying..."If you love someone you have to let them go?" I know that I need to let her go... Yeah... That's my challenge.
If you could make one wish, what would it be?
That's easy. I wish that I could go back to that rainy day and tell myself to take the corner on that wet, slick road a little slower. Then I'd still be around. And I would trust that fate would somehow lead me to meet Noelle. Oh...but then again... Forget it. I take that back. If I had survived, chances are that Noelle would be the ghost. Maybe either way you look at it, fate was trying to tell us that we were never meant to be together...at least not in this lifetime. That probably sounds like a strange riddle, right? I wish I could explain more. You'll just have to read the story because, I promise, even though our story is filled with heartbreak, it's also one that will make you believe in true love.

Life—the existence of truly living—doesn’t begin until you close the door on the past.
My post-high school goals had been right on track—literally. But when the doctors said that I could no longer run, I was faced with two choices—give up or change direction.
Unexpectedly, singing became my new passion—a passion fueled by the most gorgeous guy I had ever met.
I can’t say that I believe in love at first sight, but after meeting Gavin, I can now say with certainty that I believe in recognition at first meeting.
He was unquestionably my soul mate.
Only one obstacle stood in our way.
He was a ghost.
