I’m what’s called a half-breed. I’m half-human and half-paranormal (which kind I don’t know). I’ve always known that I was different and when I was younger a clairvoyant confirmed it to my mom. I lived in the human world for eighteen years, trying to fit in and hide all of my abilities (I can communicate with animals, have a connection to nature and I’m getting stronger every day). But luckily, one day, a Vampire breezed into my aunt’s consignment shop and we’ve been inseparable ever since. She took me under her wings and taught me everything that I need to know. I thought The Undercity would accept me with open arms and accept me as one of their own, but they don’t. I’m half-human and on top of that I don’t know which paranormal House I belong to and none has come up to claim me. But really, although they don’t accept me now I think they will eventually. As a private investigator I’m making a mark in The Undercity and I’m proving to everyone that I’m a force to be reckoned with.
2. What is your role in the story?
I’m the heroine, baby. LOL. The entire “The Undercity Chronicles of Babylonia Jones, P.I.” is about my life and about me finding my way in The Undercity. I’m a P.I. so mostly its about my crazy cases, but because things are so messed up with my life its also about me trying to find out what paranormal House I belong to and my pesky feelings for a certain Vampire. A very sexy Vampire I might add.
3. What is your favorite hobby?
Hobby? I’ve never thought of a hobby. I’ve been too busy trying to carve out my spot in The Undercity to take up knitting or anything. Ask me this question in a year. *runs to find a hobby*
4. What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?
*deep sigh* Acceptance. Things will work out for me if the occupants of The Undercity will accept me as one of their own. What does it matter if I have a paranormal House claiming me or not? I’ve been doing good by myself so far and if I have to go it alone, then so what.
5. If you could make one wish, what would it be?
Would it be so wrong to wish away Justin Bieber? Because yes, that would be my wish. Please make Justin Bieber go away. Amen.
Title: The Underground Chronicles of Babylonia Jones, PI: The Guicai Talisman
Author: A.M. Griffin
Genre: Urban Fantasy
What does a woman have to do to prove she belongs in the Undercity? Sure, I’m unclassed and only half paranormal, but that doesn’t mean I can’t solve cases. Since the established PI’s won’t acknowledge my right to a territory, I’m taking jobs from whoever will hire me, doing what I do best…proving myself to be a bad-ass problem solver. Which is how I find myself breaking into Zaid’s house, looking for a talisman my witch client says the very powerful vampire stole.
Now, I can make flowers grow, hear the wind’s whispers and talk to animals, but I don’t have the gift of seeing the future. If I did, I’d have known not to take this case. Because no matter the outcome, nothing good can come from messing with the Guicai Talisman, or it’s far too gorgeous guardian.

The Lycan Job
Being hired by the Alpha of the Lycan pack to solve the mystery of his son’s death could make my name as a PI in the Undercity—if it doesn’t get me killed first. Not only am I looking for a perp who obviously won’t hesitate to commit murder, but even before I get working on the problem I’m being threatened. That’s not going to stop me though. Neither is interference from Zaid, the hot Vampire who keeps popping up at the most inopportune times.
Yet this turns out to be anything but a straightforward case. I’m learning more about the workings of the Undercity than ever before, and what I’m finding out is pretty ugly. It’s making me question everything I thought I knew about the Houses, and what I’m missing by not being claimed by my father. But that may well be a question I won’t get a chance to ponder, because even tapping into every ability I possess might not be enough to help me survive the Lycan Job
