Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Lady Opaline of the Gossamer Elves. I was born in Turbin on the Weston continent in Eledon and currently reside in Meridian. I’m fifteen hundred years old, the youngest Elf ever to be seated on the Council of Elders and one of the very few women to have ever served.
What’s your role in this story?
(Pause) I can’t believe what the author did. This story was supposed to document a harrowing incident I had when I was kidnapped and held hostage, but instead it’s all lies. Yes, my good friend, Lady Lestin of the Water Elves, was with me when we were taken, but there’s virtually nothing about how poorly we were treated. We were held in this abandoned mine with only soup to eat and cots to sleep on, and these rebels were going to kill us if the prisoners at the Mounds weren’t released. But the author ignored our plight and made it sound like the Keeper of the Keys was some sort of hero by interfering. She almost got us killed! Not only that, but the Keeper destroyed the Northern Mountains during our escape. I thought she should be banned from Eledon permanently, but no one would agree with me. Instead, they put her on probation and forced her into a study program. I mean, what good is that? No one seems to understand how dangerous the Keeper truly is. She must be banned from Eledon before she destroys it. In addition, this story distorts my role in the political leadership of Eledon. Obviously, the author is prejudiced against me. I’m very disappointed, to say the least.
What’s your favorite hobby?
I love to write. One day, I intend to write my memoir about my experiences to encourage young women Elves to follow in my footsteps. It’ll be an inspiration to thousands of young women, and I’ll be remembered forever.
What challenge are you trying to overcome?
For some reason, everyone tells lies about me. No one believes the truth anymore. Yes, that’s my challenge—the truth. I want the truth to come out, especially about the Keeper.
If you could make one wish, what would you wish for?
I wish the Keeper of the Keys would be fired from her job and go back home where she belongs. She’s not an Elf—she’s part mortal. She needs to stay with her people, and the rest of us will gladly live the rest of our lives without her. If only you could make that happen. Thank you for your time, and please remember this story is nothing but fake news.

But will they be enough to save them all?
When I was younger, I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. Part of my reason for dropping out of college was because I didn’t know what to major in. I was envious of my sister who knew from an early age, she was going to major in math. Good for her, but math was the last subject on my mind. I joined the Navy and found a track I liked. I became a photographer. I covered local news items, accidents, and even shot portraits. It was fun, but not a career path. When I got out of the Navy, I wanted to finish college but I was lost again. What to major in? I chose accounting because all businesses needed it and I went on to get my Bachelor’s and an MBA. After working in the field for a year, I went back in the Navy and asked for any assignment other than accounting. It worked. After 22 years in the Navy, I retired. My husband and I moved into our motorhome and hit the road. Unfortunately, he passed away and I went back to work at a government job. Then I found writing. I hadn’t written a thing since I was 14 but I was smitten by the bug and have been writing ever since. “Gossamer” is the sixth book I’ve had published and is the third book in a four book series, “The Chronicles of Eledon.” Hope you enjoy it. I had fun writing it.
