Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I grew up and still live in small town Comus Maryland beneath Sugarloaf Mountain, where the story takes place. I'm the fifth of six kids and have often been considered the area "nice guy", which I like actually. I just hate the ways girls (and guys) think it means I have no balls! I'm not a doormat, as my story in this book makes clear. I finally get the chance to show that kindness does not mean weakness.
I run my family's bed and breakfast, which my mother ran before passing away from cancer. She always wanted one of us to take it over and live here with our own family, so I really want that to happen. I helped her here throughout her illness and the memory of her here is strong.
But Comus has no dating scene, so it's been hard. Fortunately, Sophia turns up on my doorstep one night, though the circumstances behind our meeting are terrible.
What is your role in the story?
Sophia's stalker Seth, has decided to, um, consummate "their love", as he puts it, by kidnapping her when she comes home from college for the summer. After she runs from him, she ends up at my B&B, looking for somewhere safe. Sparks start to fly between us, but Seth isn't finished with her and still has plans to get her, using deadly force if needed. I have guns and an alarm system, but it might not be enough, even with help from my police officer cousin, and a Marine brother. My whole family gets involved, but it's me that Sophia is truly looking to for protection, and I want to be the one to save her.
What is your favorite hobby?
Cooking. I'm the chef at Sugarloaf Inn and love making food for my guests or family when we get together. It reminds me of my parents and how we'd all gather around the dinner table for a big meal. My siblings and I still do that. I've won a few local awards for my culinary skills. Sophia remarks that a guy who's good in the kitchen might be good in the bedroom, too, and I look forward to showing her just how skilled I am there, too.
What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?
In addition to keeping Sophia safe, I have to control my own emotions, which tend to get the better of me. She's so sweet and vulnerable, though she's pretty tough, I think. I want to kiss her so badly, but now is not a great time to flirt with her, given all these she's going through. It would make me a jerk to take advantage of her. I've never had to show such restraint, and it's agonizing being able to tell that she WANTS me to kiss her.
If you could make one wish, what would it be?
To have a beautiful woman share my life and raise our kids together, and my brothers and sisters to have families, too, where all of our kids hang out and grow up together. They tease me for being a romantic, but I can't help it. People are everything and you need to surround yourself with great ones, and now that Sophia's in my life, maybe I finally have my chance for my own family. If we can survive...

An Amazon Bestselling author, Randi Everheart is an avid writer of romance, due in no small part to being a diehard romantic. After all, Randi once wrote a song for the object of a crush and penned a fifty page love letter for another! The same spirit now flows into these stories – hopefully to win your heart. Randi has a Bachelors of Music in classical guitar but has always been more of a rocker, having released several albums under another name. Tendonitis in both arms ended career plans in music, leading to a new career as a software developer. Today Randi co-owns a software consulting firm and lives in the Maryland suburbs north of D.C., is married, and loves spending time with son Ryan when not writing, playing guitar or golf, or writing smut.
