Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Justin and I’m an unenthusiastic Canucks’ fan. *laughs* Just kidding. Well, actually I’m not kidding, but that’s probably the least important thing I could say even if it makes me an oddball around here. I’m originally from Alberta and now live in British Columbia. I moved here to get into the hospitality business and worked my way up from luggage attendant to manager of a five-star hotel downtown. I’m pretty proud of that.
What is your role in the story?
My role is boyfriend to a really great guy. On the outside, he looks like a kid, but Liam is one of the bravest, strongest men I know. I take care of him. He takes care of me and together we’re trying to build a life.
What is your favorite hobby?
Definitely video games.
What is the challenge you’re trying to overcome during the story?
My challenge is to get Liam to see that there are many different versions of family and what he experienced is only one of them. Love doesn’t have to be a prison and family doesn’t have to be harsh and hurtful. It can be something amazing, but he has trouble imaging that. I get a little pushy sometimes because I love him so much. I don’t want to lose him. At the same time, he’s only twenty. He has overcome a lot, but he’s still a kid. Sometimes I forget that.
If you could make one wish, what would it be?
To find a compromise that makes us both happy. Anything beyond that gets complicated. Changing one thing always changes others and there’s no way to predict where that would lead.
