I'm eighteen, single, an Aquarius, and enjoy long walks on the beach. No, not really. Screw the beach. Have you seen my complexion? Uhh...I guess I'm a senior in a high school, getting ready to graduate, which should be scary enough, right, but then these murders started happening in my home town, and low and behold, my best friend got involved - by being turned into a vampire. To make matters worse...I've been hopelessly in love with him since we were twelve, and he has no idea. It is too worse than him being a vampire! Trust me...
What is your role in the story?
Dashing hero of course. Okay, so maybe Em is the hero, and I'm the damsel in distress. Or...person in distress? Not that I'm always in distress! I can handle myself fine. I'd like to say I'm the love interest, but I've never actually been that lucky. He's the love interest of my story, I just don't know of it'll have a happy ending yet. I'm mostly around for moral support, and to make sure Em's new vampire mentor doesn't try anything screwy. And that the hunters in town don't either. No one messes with my friends.
What is your favorite hobby?
Toss up between video games and tinkering with my arms. That's not some weird euphemism. See this awesome red number I got on? It's not a glove or some fashion statement. It's my arm from below the elbow down. I was born without the real flesh and blood part on my left arm, but I don't let that define me. I love creating new arm designs with my dad, and on my own a lot now that I can figure out the mechanics myself.
What is the challenge you are trying to overcome in the story?
This is where I should say the hunters who are after my friend because they think he's an evil vampire instead of a good one, or maybe just to help Em get through the perils of becoming a vampire in general...but for me I'm really just trying to overcome my feelings for Emery. Not that I want to...overcome them, get over them, move on. I'd much rather gather the courage to confess how I feel and have that moment turn out as cliche romance novel as possible. I mean, like, raining outside, running toward each other, mad dash to kiss and have him lift me up into his arms sappy. Yes, I am aware how ridiculous that sounds, but it would be amazing.
If you had one wish, what would it be?
If I keep saying Em, you'll think I'm some sort of stalker or something. But honestly, I have so few complaints about life. Sure, I've thought about what it might be like to have a real left arm, but then I wouldn't have fallen in love with engineering. I wouldn't have this plan to create limbs for people all over the world who can't afford them. That's it! That would be my wish - that everyone who would want one of my prosthetics could have one. That at least is a dream I know how to work toward.
